Regulatory information | South Korea KATS officially announced the start of the implementation of the KC 62368-1 standard

On August 27, 2021, South Korea’s KATS formally announced the start of the implementation of the KC 62368-1 standard. The standard will take effect immediately from the date of issuance.

The new standard is applicable to all IT/AV equipment originally under the control of KC, such as audio and video equipment.

The main changes to the regulations are as follows:

◆ According to the currently published KC 62368-1 standard content, Korea only accepts the third edition of IEC 62368 (IEC 62368-1:2018).

◆ The existing IT equipment standards K60950-1, K 60950-22 and AV equipment standards K60065 will be applied in parallel before December 31, 2022, and will be abolished after that date.
